Motorised spin table
To produce a motorised spin table so that a multiple of different sized circular parts can be polished. A standard sub plate would be mounted onto the circular table, parts would then be mounted on the sub plate. Both hands would need to be kept free to carry out the procedure. The rotary motion would need to be stopped within 90 degrees in an emergency.
To meet the specification the following was used;
- SEW 3 phase motor and variable speed drive mounted on the motor to keep footprint compact.
- The Safe Stop 1 safety stopping category was used to achieve the safety performance level PLe. Two emergency stops and an emergency stop foot pedal was used to perform the emergency stop.
- Foot pedal used to start and stop the rotation.
- Digital keypad used to control the speed and direction of the rotation.
