Eliminating smoke contamination from EDMs

Mist and smoke in a precision engineering workshop is not just a problem related to milling and turning applications, recently illustrated to us by a call from KM Engineering Ltd in Bristol.

With unwanted smoke in their workshop, the firm was looking for an affordable solution to retrofit to three EDM (electrical discharge machines) used for spark machining.

Their problem was resolved with Brown and Holmes supplying and installing MIstBuster 500 units onto two Agie Charmilles form30 machines plus one on their Agie Charmilles Roboform30. These turned out to be simple retrofits due to the foresight of the machines’ OEM having included internal extraction connections.
