Eva is the affordable solution for the automation of lightweight (<1.25kg) pick and place applications, enabling you to remove bottlenecks, optimise process cycle times and run additional operational shifts without increasing costs. It is best suited to highly repetitive processes that don’t require skilled staff to perform. The most common use cases for Eva fall into one of five categories: machine tending, product testing, inspection, sorting and lab automation.
- Machine tending
Common machine tending applications with Eva include start/end of line loading and unloading of machines such as CNC machines, CMMs, metal presses and chemical etching machines.
- Product Testing
Product testing processes – whether end-of-line, ad-hoc or in R&D (continuous improvement) – are often time consuming, costly and require a high degree of repeatability and consistency. As such, they are well suited to automation with Eva.
An Eva with an integrated camera for vision provides a simple solution for product inspection. Because of Eva’s small size and light weight, it can be easily deployed alongside your existing lines.
Bin picking and bin sorting can be two of the most challenging tasks to automate. Eva, deployed with a vision system via Automata’s API provides a solution for lightweight picking and sorting.
- Lab automation
Lab automation has a number of different applications that are suited for Eva, including: loading and unloading plates, cuvette and Eppendorf tubes for analysers and centrifuges. Eva can easily integrate with liquid dispensers, plate washers or readers, allowing you to run tests both during the day and overnight.
